Job Description
The Health Department of Wiesbaden is a central point of contact for public health matters in the Wiesbaden city area. We are committed to promoting, improving, and protecting the health and well-being of people at the local level.
Your Responsibilities
- Acting as the deputy head of the department in terms of personnel, professional, financial, and organizational matters, upon delegation of this function by the mayor
- Communicating internally within the department and externally (e.g., press inquiries, political inquiries, working groups, committees) after prior coordination
- Organizing and carrying out projects
- Contributing to the strategic development of the department
- Providing cross-departmental medical advice and, if necessary, examining clients
- Conducting inspections of medical and non-medical facilities
- Participating in the department’s on-call medical service
Your Profile
- Completed training as a specialist doctor for public health or general practitioner with professional experience in public health
- Experience in personnel management
- Strong social and leadership skills, as well as identification with the city’s leadership principles
- Ability to think in a networked way, along with strong communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution skills
- Resilience, flexibility, willingness to innovate, and strong planning and organizational skills
- Negotiation skills and assertiveness, as well as social and intercultural competence
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
- A driving license for passenger cars and willingness to use a private vehicle for official purposes (with mileage reimbursement)
- Proof of immunity against measles or willingness to get vaccinated (applicable to birth cohorts from 01.01.1971)
